OOC: Permissions
Feb. 6th, 2012 07:44 pmSo! Moist here is a con man, and as a result, he's picked up the (human) ability to tell if someone's lying, as well as bits of their personality, just by talking with them or shaking hands with them (the latter being part of the reason how he figured out Reacher Gilt's true personality, the former being how he knows that Groat is hiding something from him). Granted, some people (i.e. Captain Carrot Ironfoundersson) can get past that talent of his, but that's not why we're here, right?
...okay, so it's part of the reason why we're here.
Basically, this is a permissions post! I understand that this can be a bit god-modey at times, and I don't want to step on anyone's toes while playing Moist, so, please fill out the form below:
As a note, you are also perfectly free to let your characters play him for a fool for once, since some of them may be able to discern his true nature as well and fool him into thinking that they're harmless, if they're that type of person.
...hit me!

If so, what are they, and what can give them away? Rosalia is mostly an open book, but when she does keep things hidden it's more or less a matter of distinguishing that she actually isn't as cheerful as she sounds. Thaaat's about it, yup.

That Scrooge is a tight-fisted duck with a love of adventure. Easy tells - how he examines anything shiny, and how he is obviously more attentive when the subject of money, treasure, or legends comes up. Also, he stops to pick up change, no matter how trivial it is.

If so, what are they, and what can give them away?: Her martial arts background + cat-like nature can be seen in her movements and awareness, her girly + family orientated nature from her fashion and pride in her restaurant, and her manipulate aspects in her acting childishly and weak.

Date: 2012-02-11 12:46 am (UTC)Can he tell parts of your character's nature from the way they act? Somewhat! It's. Complicated.
If so, what are they, and what can give them away? The big one is that he isn't really the big, charming, shallow doofus he often likes to pretend to be, something that tends to become kind of immediately obvious once you get him talking about a serious subject, but otherwise that facade's second nature enough that it's probably unfair to call it second nature, so it's pretty hard to spot when the topic is more regular fluff? Sob, I wasn't kidding when I called this stuff complicated, Booster himself repeatedly expresses confusion on the topic of what his true nature is. So uh tl;dr enjoy those mixed signals I guess?
More basic and definitive stuff that would be way easier to pick up on is that he's stubbornly loyal, trusting, kind of greedy/opportunistic, and he likes getting attention because he's lonely.

If so, what are they, and what can give them away? Underneath all that snark is a gal who actually cares about people, which no doubt she'll show be helping people in a way that she thinks can't be traced back to her.
Of course, he's also welcome to try and guess the woman-dressed-as-a-man thing and the vampire thing too.
